Sutton tips Spurs for setback at Villa Park

Chris Sutton has delivered a worrying prediction for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their must-win clash with Aston Villa — and it’s not a result fans will be hoping for.

Although Spurs ended their long winless streak with a recent victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sutton isn’t convinced it marks a turning point. He acknowledged the importance of the result but questioned whether it’s enough to build momentum at such a decisive stage of the season.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Sutton said Tottenham may need to win three of their final four matches to avoid relegation, but remains doubtful about their chances.

He noted that while the win over Wolves was significant for Roberto De Zerbi’s side, the performance itself was far from convincing, especially against an underperforming opponent.

Sutton did point out that Villa have one eye on their upcoming European fixture, which could offer Spurs a slight advantage. Still, he believes the home side will have too much quality on the day.

The former striker ultimately predicted a 2-0 win for Villa — a result that would push Tottenham closer to relegation trouble.

With survival hanging in the balance, Spurs now head to Villa Park with everything to prove — and a clear opportunity to silence the doubters.
