Tottenham injury news: Postecoglou makes a big Pape Matar Sarr injury claim

Ange Postecoglou has filed a significant injury claim for Pape Matar Sarr in today’s Tottenham injury news, after the midfielder’s exclusion from the starting lineup in the team’s most recent match against Crystal Palace.

This past weekend, Tottenham and Crystal Palace played in another late-night Premier League match. Spurs rallied for three goals in the last minutes via Timo Werner, Cristian Romero, and Son Heung-Min to win the match 3-1 after falling down to a goal from a free kick by Eberechi Eze in the second half.

In many respects, Spurs supporters may have forgotten about their injury worries coming into this game due to the adrenaline rush from the incredible end. Pape Matar Sarr, who has been a consistent starter for Spurs this season, was regrettably left out of the starting eleven.

Many were perplexed as to why the Senegalese international didn’t start the game, even though he came off the bench—especially considering how much better Spurs looked with him in the middle of the field. However, Ange Postecoglou said that Sarr had been left out of the starting eleven, according to The Spurs Express.

“He’s had a bit of a back issue since he got back from sort of the Africa Cup of Nations,” Ange Postecoglou said, dispelling any misunderstanding. We’re working on it with him; he’s been dealing with it, and although it’s improving, it’s not quite completely free. Although it limits him, he continues to practice despite it; this is something we’re always working on, but he should be OK, I believe.”

For Spurs supporters, this is ultimately wonderful news. Considering how crucial a player Sarr is, it makes sense to rest him when his presence isn’t as required.
