Tottenham Hotspur need to sign a new midfielder this summer. Spurs’ midfield proved to be their weak point towards the end of last season as the likes of Yves BissoumaPierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur all struggled for form.

Luckily, the summer transfer window is just around the corner, and Spurs have the opportunity to bolster their squad in that area.

Tottenham interested in Chris Fuhrich

Altschaffl and Christian Falk discussed Fuhrich’s future and Spurs’ interest.

“Chris Fuhrich is someone we see everyday in the national team here, he has a release clause of €23.5m,” Falk said.

“He’s on Bayern’s list but he hasn’t made up his mind yet, there are various clubs courting him. In England, we reported in SportBild that Tottenham are now interested in him and have him in their list. He needs to decide whether he wants to go or if he wants to play another year in Stuttgart in the end,” Altschaffl said.

Fuhrich an exciting option

Fuhrich would be a very exciting signing for Tottenham.

Indeed, the 26-year-old has been playing the best football of his life over the past 12 months, and he’s proven to be a fantastic operator for Stuttgart.

Stuttgart were the surprise package in the Bundesliga this season, and now, some of their star players are set for big moves.

Capable of playing either in midfield or on the left wing, Fuhrich would dovetail brilliantly with James Maddison in this Spurs side.

Fuhrich grabbed eight goals and seven assists for Stuttgart in the league this season, and that attacking output is something Spurs have sorely missed from their midfield this term.

At just £20m, Fuhrich could prove to be an absolute bargain should Spurs proceed with their interest in the Germany international.
