I want to play for Tottenham: £20M Spurs player out on loan sends message to Postecoglou

Even though Tottenham Hotspur paid a lot of money to get Djed Spence, we haven’t seen him play his best at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Djed Spence was an important part of Nottingham Forest’s climb from the Championship to the Premier League in 2022.

Because of this, Tottenham Hotspur had to pay Middlesbrough £20 million to get Spence (BBC Sport). During the 2021–22 season, the right back was on loan at Forest from Boro.

Spence hasn’t made a big difference at Tottenham. The 23-year-old has been on loan to Rennes and Leeds United, and is now in Italy with Genoa.

The Athletic says Genoa could make the loan deal official for £8.5 million in the summer transfer window. However, Spence wants to play for Spurs permanently and has given Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou high marks.

Spurs player Djed Spence wants to become famous there

“I want to play for Tottenham,” Spence told The Athletic. I’d like to play a big role in the plan, but we need to wait and see how things go before we decide. Let’s talk about it with the boss and everyone else.

“The new manager has made a big difference. I trained with him during the off-season, and he’s a nice guy who runs good workouts and loves football. The club has a new vibe.” I’m happy for them because I think everyone is having fun and doing well.

He also said, “I don’t think Tottenham fans know who I am as a player.” They may have seen me at Forest, but I haven’t played, so they don’t know what I can do.

“The best is still to come.” I can get things done right away wherever I go and show everyone what I can do.

I don’t think Djed Spence will play for Tottenham Hotspur again.

I don’t think Djed Spence will play for Tottenham Hotspur again. I think the right back, who is 23 years old, should leave Spurs for good in the summer season.

The first part of the season, Spence was on loan at Leeds United. He is now on loan at Genoa. At the moment, Pedro Porro is Spurs’ first choice right back. He is 24.

Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou would not have sent Spence out on loan if he really thought he was good enough to play for his Tottenham team.

If Spence wants to play for Tottenham again, he should put his attention on his job outside of North London.
