I didn’t give them a chance: Chris Sutton has just made U-turn on where Tottenham would finish this season

Spurs have had a strong season, coming a long way from the underwhelming 2022–2023 campaign.

Last season, Spurs finished a pitiful ninth and were completely eliminated from Europe. Still, they’ve been playing at a good level this season and will be confident of qualifying for the Champions League.

It’s true that Tottenham’s most recent match ended in a loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. In addition, Spurs had to wait two weeks to play again in the Premier League.

Tottenham will now be primed for action when they play Crystal Palace at N17 on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Chris Sutton gave a preview and prediction of Spurs’ next match in a piece for BBC Sport. He also reversed course on their aspirations of finishing in the top four.

“Tottenham is still vying for a Champions League spot, and it would be an incredible season if they succeed,” he added. Particularly considering how they concluded the last season.

“At the beginning, I didn’t think they would have a chance to place in the top four because I thought Ange Postecoglou would take some time to put his ideas into practice, but that has happened more quickly than I anticipated.”

Sutton continued by projecting a decisive 3-0 victory for Tottenham vs Palace.

Wonder worker Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

The speed at which Postecoglou has improved things at Spurs is amazing. He did win the Manager of the Year accolade at the London Football Awards, defeating Mikel Arteta of Arsenal.

Tottenham will be optimistic about their prospects of finishing in the top four. Even so, there’s a strong possibility they’ll participate in the Europa League, which will undoubtedly draw in more elite players eager to be a part of a thrilling endeavour.

Tottenham has already defeated players from teams like Barcelona and Bayern Munich (Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall). Spurs will undoubtedly draw more intriguing players to N17 because of their strong pulling power.
