Striker valued at £25m chose Tottenham over Man Utd

A number of the Premier League’s top clubs are in the market for a striker this summer.

Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are all looking for new centre-forwards in this transfer window.

With so many big teams looking in the same position, you’re bound to get a few teams butting heads over the same targets, and one player who is being assessed by a number of top clubs is Jonathan David.

Indeed, the Lille star is said to be of interest to a number of top Premier League teams, and speaking on Playback, Ben Jacobs has shared an update on David’s situation.

The journalist says that Tottenham and Chelsea are both teams to keep an eye on in this race, claiming that a move to either London club is more likely than a move to Manchester United due to the impending arrival of Joshua Zirkzee at Old Trafford.

“Jonathan David is available in the region of £25m, and that’s seen as a bargain in the market. West Ham are focused on Jhon Duran. Chelsea and Tottenham are the ones to watch there and it’s less likely that Manchester United move because of Joshua Zirkzee,” Jacobs said.

David deal will still be difficult

Manchester United may be out of the race to sign David, but signing the Canadian striker still won’t be easy for Tottenham.

Indeed, Chelsea are still in the race to sign David, while there are a number of other teams who may enter the race after a strong Copa America campaign from the striker.

Tottenham need a striker after selling Harry Kane last summer, and David would perhaps fit the bill as a replacement for the England captain.

David is certainly a player to keep an eye on in this summer transfer window.
