Spurs Midfielder ruled out of Tottenham match against Brighton
Giovani Lo Celso will not be included in the squad to face Brighton today.
Lo Celso has been out of action since the beginning of January due to a ‘complex’ injury.
However, indications suggest that he has recovered from it.
He practiced with the first team all week and was expected to be fit for the Brighton match.
However, according to Tom Barclay, he will not be part of the team that faces the Seagulls tonight.
Manager Ange Postecoglou also hinted at it in his pre-match news conference, noting that although Lo Celso has trained all week, he has missed a significant amount of football, which is why Spurs may wait another week before bringing him in the team.
Despite his limited playing time, he has produced some of his greatest football in a Tottenham jersey this season.
He has played in 10 league games this season, scoring two goals and contributing two assists.
He was heavily connected with a transfer to Galatasaray on Turkish deadline day, but that did not happen, and he is now poised to stay with the club for the remainder of the season.
