Richarlison out of Tottenham Hotspurs – Says Bryan King

Bryan King has urged Tottenham to sign a new number nine to replace Richarlison.

The ex-Spurs scout doesn’t believe the 28-year-old’s time with the club has been successful.

As reported by Football London (25 June), Tottenham would consider transfer offers for Richarlison this summer.

But King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested the club should consider going one step further.

“When you’ve been bought for an enormous amount of money, that also means you’re on enormous wages,” King said.

“Therefore, the only way that Spurs will be able to get rid of Richarlison is by finding a club willing to take on his wages or releasing him.

“The settlement fee to release him from his contract would be very large. However, the club do need to get rid of him.

“They bought him for over £50million, and it hasn’t worked out. They need a new number nine.”

Will Richarlison start for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham next season?

It seems incredibly unlikely that the club would terminate Richarlison’s contract at this point.

He still contributes enough to warrant a place in the squad, although there are certainly question marks over whether or not he should be starting for the club.

As unlikely as a contract termination is, Spurs receiving a big-money transfer offer is perhaps just as unfeasible.
