Messy effort: Nations media slam £20M Tottenham player’s performance after 3/10

This week, a lot of Tottenham players are away playing for their countries. This is true for many Premier League teams.

Several big names at Spurs have flown all over the world to play. It’s been a bit of a mixed bag so far.

A terrible 3/10 was given to Pedro Porro for how he played for Spain. On the plus side, both Cristian Romero and Gio Lo Celso scored goals for Argentina and were praised for their work.

English lost 1-0 to Brazil, which was frustrating for Spurs fans because James Maddison didn’t play.

In Denmark, though, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, another defender, did get picked. And it’s safe to say that his showing wasn’t the best.

A Tottenham player was given only three rating for his performance in Denmark’s loss to Switzerland. Hojbjerg is a member of Tottenham’s team, so he doesn’t get picked as a starter when everyone is healthy.

But he played 83 minutes for Denmark in a boring 0-0 draw with Switzerland. He did well, but the Danish media didn’t like what he did.

Play sports. When TV2 quickly gave their player scores for the Danes, it wasn’t good news for Hojbjerg.

“A person who has to play a lot. And he doesn’t do that at Spurs. At first, he caught a few balls, but as the game went on, he got impatient and pushed himself too hard. The work was a mess, they wrote.

In this case, it looks like Hojbjerg’s lack of game time caught up with him.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has a terrible game for Denmark.

The £20 million Tottenham player usually does such a good job that this 3/10 grade almost seems too good to be true.

But that’s what he was given. Aside from player of the match Joakim Maehle, the whole Danish team wasn’t praised very much. He got only a 6/10.

Tonight will have been a bad night for Hojbjerg. These days, he doesn’t play for Tottenham, but he’s proud to be one of the best men for Denmark.

It looks like the quality has dropped a bit here, and he’ll be eager to fix things soon.
