Kevin De Bruyne fires back James Maddison demand after Tottenham transfer

This season, James Maddison has been told to do well in North London if he wants to be thought of as one of the best creative midfielders.

Kevin De Bruyne, who plays for Manchester City, told James Maddison that he needs to start strong at Tottenham Hotspur this season if he wants to be known as one of the best players in the Premier League.

Maddison, who is 26 years old, moved from Leicester City to North London for £40 million at the end of June. So far, the arrival of the England player has been a huge success. He has scored two goals in two games and has won over most of the Spurs fans.

But De Bruyne hasn’t decided how good the player is compared to Bruno Fernandes and Martin Odegaard. Instead, he wants the Spurs star to get the same results with a top team.

Joe Thomlinson from Sky Sports asked De Bruyne to rank Fernandes, Odegaard, and Maddison as the Premier League’s most creative midfielders. The Belgian player put Maddison in third place, Odegaard in second, and Fernandes in first.

When asked why he made that choice, De Bruyne said that he wanted to see more from Maddison on a big team. He said, “Maddison is very creative, but I need to see him play more on a big team for that to change.”

De Bruyne went on, “I think Fernandes is a creative machine in general.” “He’s been doing it for a very long time.”

“[Odegaard] is very creative, but he is also more in control,” he said. “Odegaard were great last year, but he’s younger, so that makes sense.”
