Glasner has told Palace to sign Tottenham flop

Marcus Edwards, a winger for Sporting CP, is apparently of interest to Crystal Palace as Oliver Glasner gets ready for the summer transfer window to bolster his squad.

Palace will have a busy summer ahead of them as they want to invest in the market after the appointment of a new manager.

It is expected that Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, the star duo, would depart the Eagles during the transfer window, and several speculations about their futures have already begun to surface.

There are rumours that Palace wants to bring in a striker in the summer transfer window.

The Eagles could be tempted to widen their areas in addition to adding depth to the front line, barring a front man.

Marcus Edwards, a former Tottenham youth player, has been connected to a move to Selhurst Park.

For the next season, the 25-year-old Edwards is apparently “one of Glasner’s requests,” according to sources from the Portuguese news outlet A Bola.

There could be a tiny snag since the Sporting CP star’s release clause is set at €60 million (£57 million), a figure that might be lowered if the right amount is paid, despite the manager’s evident admiration for the player.

Having come through the ranks at Tottenham, Edwards has made an impression in Portugal.

The London-born winger has thrived since joining Sporting in 2022, making 104 appearances in all competitions and assisting on 46 goals.

With 14 goals this season, including six goals and eight assists, the Englishman has given Glasner’s offence a preview of what he could be able to provide.

The former Spurs player is a versatile player who can play as a right winger, making him a great option to take Olise’s spot should he decide to depart at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Glasner now has to indicate that he intends to sign the Sporting star, but there should be no question about the player’s quality and potential.
