Despite his versatility, the winger has made just 11 appearances in all competitions this season, failing to contribute to a single goal.

Having joined Tottenham from Sevilla for a reported £21.6 million in July 2021, Gil has only featured in 42 matches across all competitions since his arrival.

During his time at Spurs, Gil has been loaned out twice – first returning to Sevilla for six months in the latter half of 2023, followed by a half-season stint at Valencia in 2022.

Despite his adaptability, he has struggled to secure a regular spot in the Spurs lineup and has yet to find the back of the net for the club.

His last league start dates back to early December when Spurs faced Manchester City, with subsequent appearances limited to brief cameos off the bench.

Tottenham is actively pursuing new signings for the upcoming season, with Football Insider disclosing (29 March) their focus on securing the services of Nottingham Forest standout Morgan Gibbs-White and recruiting a new striker this summer.
