Argentine media attacks Cristian Romero with verdict after he scored in last night’s win over El Salvador
Cristian Romero, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, played for Argentina in a simple 3-0 win over El Salvador on Friday night.
At Lincoln Financial Field in Pennsylvania, United States, the star player for Spurs scored the first goal for the defending world champs in their friendly match.
Italy got off to a good start when Romero scored in the 16th minute by rising high to head home a precise Angel Di Maria corner.
The star player for Tottenham kept doing great things. As usual, he was a rock at the back and helped his country shut out the other team.
After a scramble in the box, Enzo Fernandez doubled Argentina’s lead just before halftime. At the break, the score was a healthy 2-0.
Not long after the game started again, Lautaro Martinez set up Giovani Lo Celso for a third goal.

The Argentine media liked what they saw from Romero and gave him good marks in their ratings pieces after the game.

On the other hand, La Popu gave Romero an 8 out of 10 for his work that day.

Overall, it was a good game from the Tottenham star, who is clearly important to both Spurs and Albiceleste.
The next game for Argentina is a friendly against Costa Rica in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (3am Wednesday UK time).
This summer, Romero and his partners are playing in the Copa America. They are in Group A with Chile, Peru, and either Canada or Trinidad & Tobago.
