Legendary man Apologises to Fans for Comments Slating Tottenham Signing
The international great says he’s sorry for criticising the Tottenham deal. A commentator has apologised for what he said about a new Tottenham Hotspur player.
Florin Raducioiu, a legendary Romanian player, said some bad things about Radu Dragusin, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, in December. He called the 22-year-old “limited” and criticised the player’s transfer fee.
Raducioiu has recently apologised for his reaction, saying that he may have been “a bit harsh” and that what he said was “nothing personal.” He did say, though, that Dragusin isn’t the “best player in Romania” and doesn’t “convey emotion” the way he’d like.
Dragusin has played five Premier League games since joining Spurs in January. He has yet to score a goal or set up another one, though.
In what way did Florin Raducioiu talk about Radu Dragusin?
In an interview with Orange Sport, Raducioiu said, “It wasn’t about me.” It was just how I felt, and I may have been too hard with the word “shepherd.” I feel bad about what I said, and I’m sorry. I did that a few months ago.
“I know that the Tottenham deal went through, but there was no reason for it, and he shouldn’t be praised as the best player in Romania.”
I think that Romania’s best player should be a show player, someone who makes me feel something, which Drăguşin didn’t do. That’s all, nothing personal.”
In the past, Raducioiu had said this about Dragusin (via Digisport): “He is a very limited player from a technical point of view, fair play to him.” Is being a servant a reward? I have nothing against him; he’s just starting out as a player and is very young. But he makes two passes, one to the right and one to the left, and two shoulder shots!
“It seems to me that we have lost the essence of football in Romania, we reward a football player with a very rudimentary playing style from a technical point of view.”
