He is just getting better: David Seaman so impressed by amazing Spurs player’s display

David Seaman has given his assessment on Guglielmo Vicario after Tottenham Hotspur’s thrilling victory against Brighton at the weekend.

Spurs put their top-four drive back on track with a huge victory against Brighton. Of course, Brennan Johnson’s 96th-minute goal to settle the game threw the crowd into a frenzy.

On another day, the result may have been significantly different. Tottenham were sometimes wasteful in the final third. They were also thankful to Guglielmo Vicario for keeping the opponents at bay save for a penalty in the first half.

Vicario has not had the easiest life lately. Tottenham have seemed susceptible from set-pieces on a few occasions. But there’s no denying that the Italian has been a spectacular signing.

“To be fair to them, they performed admirably. Vicario once again made some incredible saves. He simply keeps getting better. “That was a fantastic win for them,” he said.

“He made two wonderful saves: one from Welbeck and one from Mitoma, I believe. He went through and toe poked it, resulting in a close range save. The fact that he toe pokes it makes it much more difficult for the custodian, because you don’t know where it’s going and there’s very little backlift.”

Spurs now see light at the end of the tunnel

He is also being urged to play a high-risk style of game. Vicario must be courageous on the ball. However, he must be vigilant at all times since the Spurs play a very high line. If Micky van de Ven is unable to reach to the ball, Vicario must step in.

Tottenham remains a work in progress. However, Vicario is one of numerous players that have huge potential in their first season under Postecoglou.
