Former manager launches bizarre attack on 26yr old Spurs star
Richarlison has come under fire from former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood for failing to celebrate his goals against Everton.
The Brazilian striker is doing quite well right now; over the weekend, he scored an incredible double against his old team. But out of consideration for his previous employment, he chose not to flaunt his accomplishments.
Sherwood is not happy about it because he thought Richarlison looked sad after he scored against the Toffees.
“It’s obvious he needs to smile after his second goal if he didn’t celebrate the first one,” Sherwood said to Premier League Productions on March 02, 24 at 1:30 p.m.
“Stop scoring goals if you really feel so horrible about it. Just look at how upset he is. You cannot be inconsolable.
Ever since leaving Everton to join Tottenham, Richarlison has struggled. The 26-year-old is gradually returning to his peak performance, so Sherwood’s criticism is unexpected. Players usually steer clear of celebrations with previous teams.
During his stay at Goodison Park, Richarlison had a strong relationship with Everton supporters, and his actions were quite appropriate.
Whether the Brazilian striker chooses to reply to the former Tottenham manager’s remarks will be intriguing to see. When it comes to criticism, the 26-year-old isn’t afraid to voice her opinions.
The remarks made by Sherwood won’t affect Spurs supporters. They will be pleased with the striker’s recent efforts and will be hoping that he can maintain his goal-scoring consistency.
This season, he was expected to step up and cover for Harry Kane, and in recent weeks, he has undoubtedly shown that he had the ability. Nine goals have been scored by the 26-year-old in his past 10 outings in all competitions.
