“We’re really good” – Tottenham star hails ‘solutions’ ahead of Leeds United visit and Roberto De Zerbi impact

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Danso believes new manager Roberto De Zerbi has brought clarity and composure to the team ahead of Monday night’s crucial Premier League clash against Leeds United.

Spurs moved out of the relegation zone after a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday — only their second run of consecutive league wins this season and their first since August. The club has endured a turbulent campaign, including managerial changes from Thomas Frank to Igor Tudor, before De Zerbi took charge at the end of March.

Danso praised De Zerbi’s influence, saying the Italian coach has given the squad “solutions” and helped players better understand their roles and style of play.

Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Danso said:

“He’s given us loads of solutions and I feel like everybody knows exactly what the manager wants and how we want to play.

“I feel we look calm and we also feel calm, especially when we have the ball.

“I feel like we’re really good defenders and when it comes to that, I think we continue to do well and show our qualities.”

The defender also highlighted the importance of the win over Aston Villa and stressed that Spurs must maintain the same intensity in their final three matches of the season.

“I’m very proud of the performance. It was an important game. We knew the situation going into the game and I think the lads were extremely focused, knew what was at stake and performed really well.

“We’ve been working all week with each other, speaking to each other. We know what’s at stake and what is needed.

“That fight we showed today is needed for the next three games as well.”

Tottenham host Leeds United on Monday night in what could be a decisive fixture in the battle to avoid relegation.
