Robin van Persie has admitted he would prefer Tottenham Hotspur to fail in their pursuit of one of his key players this summer.

Spurs eye prolific striker
Tottenham are believed to be planning for two different summer scenarios depending on whether they avoid relegation, with manager Roberto De Zerbi aware that failure could trigger a major squad overhaul.
One player high on their radar is Ayase Ueda, who has been in outstanding form for Feyenoord. The striker has scored 25 goals in 29 Eredivisie appearances this season, attracting interest from across Europe.
Van Persie’s stance on Ueda future
Van Persie, now managing Feyenoord, made it clear he wants the Japanese forward to stay in Rotterdam.
“I hope he’s still here next season. He’s extremely important to us and fits perfectly into our style.
He had a dip in form, but the way he bounced back says a lot about his character.
It might be the right time for him to move, but that’s not my decision—I just hope he stays.”
