King slams Tottenham star linked with Old Trafford move, He is not a Manchester United player

Former Tottenham employee Bryan King has expressed doubts about Timo Werner’s suitability for a top Premier League club amid speculation linking him to Manchester United.

Werner, who joined Ange Postecoglou’s side on loan from RB Leipzig in January, has the option for a permanent transfer for £14.5 million.

Manchester United’s reported interest in Werner prompted King to offer his assessment of the German forward. Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News.

King stated, “I’m not having that, he is not a Manchester United player. I can’t see him being a central part of Tottenham or United, I just cannot see it. I don’t think either club should sign him.

He doesn’t excite me at all. Unless he is right in front of goal and the ball is put on a plate he is not a threat.”

Werner’s performance at Tottenham has been a mix of highs and lows. While he has shown flashes of brilliance and increased goal-scoring form in recent weeks, his inconsistency was evident in Spurs’ recent 3-0 defeat to Fulham, where he missed a clear opportunity after coming off the bench.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy faces a decision on whether to pay the £14.5 million fee to secure Werner’s permanent transfer. He is likely to take his time and assess all available options before making a decision.

Werner will aim to continue impressing at Tottenham in the upcoming weeks, using the remaining time of his loan spell to prove his worth to the club.
