Everything points to exit for Tottenham player in summer, 23yr old won’t lack suitors
In the winter transfer window, Bryan Gil “choosed to stay” at Tottenham Hotspur despite having many offers.
As per Estadio Deportivo, the 23-year-old’s choice has not yielded any positive results.
Gil struggled to get consistent playing time after moving from Sevilla to Tottenham in 2021.
The winger was hoping for a long-term solution instead of another loan after stints on loans at Valencia and Sevilla, but that didn’t work out in January.
The player was “seduced” by a return to the Andalusian club last month, but because of their precarious financial situation, they were unable to satisfy Tottenham’s demand of €7-8 million.
With 11 games played so far this season at Spurs, the Spain international has been limited to 221 minutes, 46 of which are from this calendar year.
Given that Tottenham has only a few league games remaining before the end of the season and that Ange Postecoglou has other choices up top, his position is unlikely to get much better.
Although Gil’s contract is still valid for more than two years, Estadio Deportivo says that “everything points to a summer exit” for him.
According to the source, Tottenham won’t be able to recoup the majority of the money they paid to recruit him because of his declining price. Gil, meanwhile, “won’t lack suitors” given his age and his prior performance in La Liga.
