Ivan Toney has been praised by Pep Guardiola, who has acknowledged that he has not seen many attackers in the world who are as skilled at utilizing their bodies to cover the ball as the rumored Tottenham target.
Toney has shown his skill to everyone since serving his second suspension of the previous month; in six games, the center striker has scored four goals (Transfermarkt).
Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Tottenham plans to recruit a top number nine to replace Harry Kane in the summer, and the star of the Bees is reportedly one among the players they are considering.
Spurs were mentioned by HITC a few weeks ago as one of the teams planning a summer transfer for the 27-year-old, who is said to be worth between £50 million and £60 million.
According to the source, Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Chelsea have entered the hunt for the England international, and it is now doubtful that the striker would extend his current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, which expires in 2025.
Pep Guardiola offers high admiration for Ivan Toney
Now that he has acknowledged his admiration for Toney, Pep Guardiola has highlighted him as a threat ahead of his team’s match against Brentford earlier this week, which the Premier League winners prevailed 1-0.
In his pregame news conference, the City manager spoke of the striker (via One Football): “He is so dangerous.” He’s one of the greatest I’ve ever seen when it comes to using his body to finish well and connect with the ball.
“We didn’t defend the goal we gave up to him properly a few weeks ago, but he did a really good job.”

Toney, a Brentford star who is one of the few players in the Premier League who can promise 20 goals, is undoubtedly one of the few elite number nines available right now.
There will be a fierce competition to recruit him, and my guess is that he will sign with Arsenal since Mikel Arteta’s team is in dire need of a quality center striker.
