Postecoglou Unbelievable 21yr Old Spurs Talent Will Be Involved Today
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou, has confirmed that Pape Matar Sarr will be part of the team against Everton on Saturday.
Speaking to football.london, Postecoglou mentioned that the 21-year-old midfielder, despite a long trip back from the Africa Cup of Nations, will be involved in some capacity.
However, the extent of Sarr’s involvement will depend on an assessment after Friday’s training session.
Postecoglou provided an update on the latest Spurs team news, stating, “Everyone got through the other night okay, so no issues.
Obviously, a short turnaround, so the lads are still recovering from that, so we haven’t really done too much training-wise, but they all feel good. And obviously Pape Sarr’s back. He had a long trip back, so we’ll assess him after training. Fair to say he’ll be involved, but I’m not sure to what extent.”
Sarr represented Senegal three times during the Africa Cup of Nations, reaching the last 16. In the second-round meeting with Ivory Coast, he played 120 minutes, contributing with an assist and scoring a penalty during the shootout, although Senegal was eventually eliminated.
Sarr’s return is significant for Tottenham, as the midfielder has been a crucial part of the team’s midfield alongside Yves Bissouma.
Despite ongoing international duties for Bissouma and Son Heung-min, the gradual return of players like Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and James Maddison is easing Tottenham’s injury concerns and enhancing their overall squad strength.
