19yo Tottenham loanee’s market value soars by as much as £9.6 million in last 8 months after breakthrough year

Luka Vušković is yet to make his competitive debut for Tottenham Hotspur, but his value has soared by around £9.6 million in just eight months—highlighting how highly regarded the 19-year-old has become during his loan spell at Hamburger SV.

According to estimates from the CIES Football Observatory, Vušković is now valued between €42 million and €49 million (£36.3m–£42.3m), a notable rise from the €37.8 million valuation recorded last August. It’s a significant jump for a player who hasn’t yet featured for Spurs in a competitive match.

Tottenham’s early investment is proving to be a smart one. The club secured a deal for Vušković from Hajduk Split in 2023 when he was just 16. He officially joined Spurs last summer before being loaned out to Hamburg to gain valuable first-team experience.

That move has paid off. The young defender has impressed in Germany, scoring six goals across all competitions and attracting interest from top clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund. His performances have marked him out as one of Europe’s most promising defensive talents.

Although a knee injury briefly interrupted his progress, Hamburg coach Merlin Polzin confirmed he has returned to light training, with the pain easing. Vušković recently made his comeback as a substitute in a 2–1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, marking his 28th appearance of the season.

He is expected to return to Tottenham this summer, with no buy option included in the loan deal. His immediate future may depend on Spurs’ relegation battle, as they currently sit just two points from safety with four games left.

Vušković is also looking ahead to international duty, having already earned four caps for Croatia national team. A strong showing on the global stage could further boost a valuation that is already rising rapidly for a player yet to play for his parent club.
