Postecoglou decides two priority Tottenham signings, with £93M double swoop on the cards
Ange Postecoglou is reportedly eyeing the addition of a central attacking midfielder and a new striker to Tottenham Hotspur’s squad this summer, potentially paving the way for the arrival of Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest and a Bundesliga standout.
Recent reports have linked Tottenham, Arsenal, and West Ham United with an interest in Nottingham Forest’s Gibbs-White, who has made a significant impact in the Premier League since joining Forest in August 2022, earning praise from various quarters.
While Forest values Gibbs-White highly and sees him as integral to their long-term plans, their relegation from the Premier League, exacerbated by a points deduction, could force them to sell the midfielder. Forest has lodged an appeal against the penalty.
Tottenham’s emergence as frontrunners for Gibbs-White’s signature is a development that aligns with Postecoglou’s reported interest, with Football Insider indicating that the midfielder is a priority target for Spurs this summer.
Forest has reluctantly set Gibbs-White’s price tag at £50 million, a figure that would see them profit from his sale after securing his services from Wolverhampton Wanderers for an initial fee of £25 million, potentially rising to £42.5 million.
In addition to pursuing Gibbs-White, Postecoglou is reportedly keen on bolstering Tottenham’s attacking options with a new center-forward.
While specific targets remain undisclosed, speculation has surrounded potential candidates in recent weeks.
Although Tottenham has shown admiration for Brentford’s Ivan Toney, reports from David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano suggest Manchester United’s interest in the striker could complicate Spurs’ pursuit.
As an alternative, Tottenham may intensify their pursuit of Omar Marmoush, who has impressed for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga this season, registering 15 goals in 33 appearances, including strikes against prominent clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Union Berlin.
