Postecoglou on Tottenham’s remaining transfer window plans

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has been talking to the press about the January transfer window. He says he is happy with the club’s business so far but that they are ready to make more moves if they can.

Tottenham have already signed two players to help Ange Postecoglou’s team in areas that needed it the most. This isn’t usually how quickly and efficiently the transfer window works in January.

Since Timo Werner came from RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season, Spurs’ attack got even stronger.

Soon after, Genoa’s 21-year-old defender Radu Dragusin signed on a regular basis, giving the team much-needed cover and competition in the middle of the defence.

Spurs have also been able to get rid of some unwanted players this month, but the club is also rumoured to want to sign more players. The Independent says Spurs will try to sign a centre player before the transfer window closes.

They also want Antonio Nusa and have a deal in the works worth €30m (£25.7m) (The Athletic).

What do Spurs need to do to make a move in January?

It looks like Spurs could have a busy last week of the transfer window. What does Ange Postecoglou think? He was asked about the plan and the business the club has done at his most recent press meeting (via Football.London).

He said, “As for the rest of the transfer window, I was really happy that we were able to meet our initial goals of getting someone in at centre back and someone in the forward positions pretty quickly.”

“And it’s not just because we did them early; both of them have really grown from spending 10 days in the building with us training, adjusting, and all that.” Timo and Radu are both in great positions to help us move forward.

What will happen with the rest of it going forward? As I said before, we’re always on guard and working, and if we can make the team better, we will. And if there are any possible outgoings, we’re ready for them, no matter what.

“Given the stress of getting ready for the game and wondering what we could do to help the team, especially at this time, I think we’re in a good place now.”

So far this month, I think we’ve made a lot of work. Anything else would be great at this point. It looks like a few more players will be leaving, and the Nusa deal might also be done. It would be great to have a better centre midfielder, but I’m not holding my breath.
