Tottenham trigger £60m release clause of 26-year-old once compared to Raheem Sterling
According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a move for England midfielder Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, The North London club are willing to offer £60m for the 26-year-old. Currently, Eze is serving his national side in the Euro 2024.
The Eagles midfielder is impressing in the Premier League with his performances for Crystal Palace. Eze joined Crystal Palace in 2020, following his journey with the Championship club Queens Park Rangers. Eze established himself as a key midfielder at Selhurst Park.

The England international has scored 26 goals and contributed 17 assists in 124 games for the Eagles across all competitions. The right-footed midfielder also shines as a left winger and left midfielder, which makes the player a versatile option in the midfield. His impressive stint with the Premier League club has drawn the attention of several top clubs.

Ange may consider Eze as a versatile option in the midfield for Spurs, and the tactician can create an attacking pair with Eze and James Maddison.
The former Queens Park Rangers manager, Marc Bircham, has compared Eze’s performance with Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling in an old interview with Sky Sports.
“He goes past players easier than Raheem Sterling did. Sterling would beat players with pace or do a trick or a chop – it’s all dynamic movements, but Ebere Eze just glides past players.”
Bircham has claimed that the English midfielder can dribble past opponents from his early days, which makes him better than Sterling. Eze is also known for his pace and ball control in the midfield, and he has also been the key midfielder to control games for the Eagles. Eze,26 is currently in his prime form and it is the best time for the Spurs to bag the midfielder.
Premier League rivals Manchester City are also vying for the midfielder in the summer, anyway, Spurs are gearing up for the deal by triggering the £60m and they could complete the deal before the Champions enter.
