Big Tottenham transfer update after overnight development
Football Insider has learned that Tottenham is working hard to sign Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge for £25 million in January.
Spurs are reportedly offering a deal that would see the 18-year-old player bought forever and then sent back on loan to Brugge for the rest of the 2023–24 season.
Tottenham’s interest in Nusa was first reported by Football Insider in November. Now, Ange Postecoglou’s team has come up with a plan to make a deal before the deadline on February 1.
The Belgian club wants to get the most money for Nusa and turned down a summer offer from Chelsea for the young player.
After talks overnight, Spurs are now in the best situation to close the deal in the last 10 days of the January transfer window.
Nusa has impressed people in Belgium and is highly rated in that country’s Pro League. He is also a full international player in his home country of Norway.
In 26 games so far this season, the player, who mostly plays on the left, has scored three goals and set up three others.
Nusa just last year signed a new deal that lasts until June 2027.
As they try to win the Europa Conference League this season, Brugge is thought to want to keep him at the club until the summer.
Since coming to the club from Stabaek in 2021, he has played 62 games and scored six goals.
The teen has also already played four times for Norway, hitting one goal and setting up four others.
Tottenham wants to improve their attack in the next few months and is looking for players under 24 years old.
After a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on January 14, Postecoglou’s team is currently in fifth place in the Premier League.
