Tottenham in battle with Newcastle to sign Brazilian star, £35M bid will seal major deal

The report from Tutto Atalanta says that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are both interested in Atalanta striker Ederson.

Ederson has been an important player for Atalanta this season, helping them do well in both Italy and Europe. This season, he has played a lot for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team, starting 20 times in Serie A and scoring 6 goals in 27 games across all categories.

According to Tutto Atalanta, both Tottenham and Newcastle are interested in the Brazilian player. The situation is said to be “between interest and confirmation.” This means that teams have only expressed an interest so far; they have not yet made their plans official.

Even though two Premier League teams are interested in the 24-year-old, Atalanta are determined to keep him because they see his “strategic value” as an important part of their sports project.

His deal at the Gewiss Stadium ends in June 2026, and the Shields Gazette recently said that Atalanta would want at least £35 million to get rid of the player.

Tottenham is constantly participating in the winter transfer window and moving quickly and efficiently to make deals. It’s important for Ange Postecoglou to bring in new players early so that they can fit in with the team’s strategy without any problems.

In line with this plan, Spurs have successfully borrowed Timo Werner from German team RB Leipzig for six months with the chance to buy him back in the summer. Werner used to play for Chelsea.

Spurs have also done a deal to buy Radu Dragusin, a Romanian international, for £25 million. This quick purchase is meant to fill in a defence hole caused by illness on the Spurs team.
