Tottenham hijacked by EPL rival who agree club record deal for Norwegian starlet

Brentford has thwarted Tottenham’s attempt to sign Antonio Nusa, reaching a club-record £25.6 million agreement with Club Brugge, as reported by talkSPORT.

Despite advanced negotiations between Spurs and Club Brugge, the 18-year-old winger is now set to undergo a medical with Brentford.

The deal may involve loaning Nusa back to Brugge for the remainder of the season.

Recognized as one of Europe’s most promising talents, Nusa has contributed four goals and three assists in various competitions this season.

In September 2022, he made history as the youngest player to score on his Champions League debut during a 4-0 victory over Porto.

Nusa has earned four caps at the senior international level for Norway.

Once finalized, this transfer will become Brentford’s record, surpassing the £23 million paid to Wolves for Nathan Collins in the previous summer.

Brentford is also monitoring Toulouse striker Thijs Dallinga, although meeting the Ligue 1 club’s asking price of £30 million to £35 million seems unlikely.

Dallinga, 23, played a key role in Toulouse’s Coupe de France triumph last season, scoring twice in the final against Nantes.

With 18 goals in all competitions during the 2022/23 campaign and ten goals so far this season, the Dutch striker is a sought-after target.

Brentford, missing Bryan Mbuemo due to an ankle injury and with Yoane Wissa at the Africa Cup of Nations with DR Congo, aims to strengthen its attacking options.
