Heartbreaking: Outstanding Tottenham player suffers now new injury in another setback
Another setback this weekend seems to have been caused by a fresh injury to one “outstanding” Tottenham Hotspur player.

In Ange Postecoglou’s first season as manager, Spurs have struggled with injuries, as many players have missed significant chunks of the season.
The Australian has been missing James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, two of the team’s biggest summer additions, for many months. Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon have also been out for extended periods of time.
As the final stretch draws near, Postecoglou still has Spurs aiming for a top-four finish. However, after losing 2-1 to Wolves at home on Saturday, they are now two points behind Aston Villa.
Spurs had 12 different injuries in all from the start of the season, which added up to 625 days missed. It seems that one of the unfortunate players has now had yet another setback.
Fresh injury to Ryan Sessegnon
Despite being included in Tottenham’s U21 starting lineup for their Saturday afternoon encounter against West Ham, wide player Sessegnon pulled up and needed medical attention after charging into the area.

The Spurs Web reports that the announcer referred to the fact that he was substituted after only 35 minutes as “heart-breaking news.”
The 23-year-old, who was born in Fulham and can play left flank, left midfield, or left defender, moved to north London in 2019. He has, however, suffered from injuries over that period, with only 17 Premier League games in a season.

When Sessegnon first joined Spurs in 2020, commentator Noel Whelan hailed him as “outstanding” and a “£50m player in the making.” Sadly, he hasn’t lived up to that price tag while wearing a Spurs jersey.
He was fantastic at Fulham, where I saw him play often. A few years ago, he was perhaps the finest player in the Championship.
He has time on his side and is young. I had anticipated that he would make an impression at Spurs more quickly, but young players sometimes have teething problems, particularly when they are up against elite internationals.Without a question, he’s a fantastic player if he gains confidence and has a few games under his belt.
“I believe he has the potential to be a £50 million player, and Mourinho and Spurs will agree.”
The Englishman has just under 18 months left on his Spurs contract. If he has trouble staying healthy, Tottenham authorities may give serious consideration to letting Sessegnon go this summer in an effort to raise some cash.
