Tottenham are now refusing to rule out selling one of Postecoglou’s “most important” ace
Tottenham Hotspur may not rule out the sale of a key player in Ange Postecoglou’s squad, a move that would likely disappoint fans.
As Spurs assess their roster, several players near the ends of their contracts may leave in 2025, including Sergio Reguilon, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, and Alfie Whiteman.
Reguilon, having spent recent loan spells at Manchester United and Brentford, is now training with the senior team but has yet to feature in any competition this season.
The former Real Madrid player is reportedly attracting interest from La Liga, with Getafe considering a free transfer move next summer.

Elsewhere, Tottenham seems unlikely to exercise the £8.5 million option to make Timo Werner’s loan deal permanent, signaling his potential departure once his loan expires. Archie Gray may also be loaned out in January to gain additional experience.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and other top clubs, including Real Madrid and Inter Milan, are monitoring Cristian Romero as he has yet to extend his contract with Tottenham.
Retaining Romero is critical for Postecoglou, as the Argentine has forged a solid defensive partnership with Micky van de Ven. Football pundit Paul Robinson has endorsed the idea of a new contract for Romero, highlighting his leadership on the pitch and his essential role alongside van de Ven.
Robinson notes that a contract extension is good news for Spurs, as Romero adds the determination and edge that the team needs.
While Spurs are determined to hold onto Romero, they appear more open to considering offers for star right-back Pedro Porro.
Reports suggest Tottenham might be willing to listen to offers for the Spaniard, especially given his increased market value. Porro has become a critical component of Postecoglou’s lineup, operating as an attack-focused wing-back alongside Destiny Udogie.
This duo has been highly valuable to Tottenham’s strategy, with analyst Stephen Warnock calling Porro and Udogie the team’s “most important” players. Tottenham has reportedly placed an £80 million price tag on Porro to reflect his value, with Manchester City and Real Madrid expressing interest in the defender.
