Tottenham now decide to sell £20M Paratici signing with Reguilon

Tottenham Hotspur is pressing ahead with their January transfer dealings and is considering the possibility of offloading returning defender Djed Spence.

Spence’s sudden return to north London from Leeds this week has caused a stir among those associated with Spurs.

Having shelled out £20 million to acquire Spence from Middlesbrough during Fabio Paratici’s tenure in charge of transfers, Tottenham has found the player’s impact lacking. Antonio Conte consistently omitted him from selection, and Ange Postecoglou subsequently loaned him to Elland Road this past summer.

Now, indications point towards Tottenham’s inclination to part ways with the defender permanently.

Tottenham’s Intentions to Sell Djed Spence Following Leeds Return

As reported by The Daily Mail, Tottenham is reportedly prepared to sell Spence following his return to the club.

Leeds’ decision to send Spence back surprised Tottenham, prompting them to consider recouping some of the investment made in the player.

Tottenham is actively seeking to offload several players, and there are indications in the same report that the club is also open to selling Sergio Reguilon, who recently returned from Manchester United.

Spence’s Need for a Move

For Spence’s own sake, a change appears necessary. His recent tenure has evidently not progressed as hoped, and Leeds’ decision to return him is a significant setback.

It’s apparent that Spence lacks a future at Spurs, potentially vindicating Antonio Conte’s earlier assessment of the young defender.

At this juncture, Spence needs a fresh start, preferably at a club willing to invest in him and offer consistent game-time opportunities.

He must rediscover his top form, reminiscent of his performances at Nottingham Forest, to revitalize his career trajectory.

Fortunately, Spence’s youth still affords him a chance to redefine his career path, but the upcoming move holds immense importance, and he must choose wisely to reignite his career.
