Tottenham Hotspur resumes their Premier League campaign today with a critical matchup against Aston Villa, a fellow top-four contender.

Despite a recent league setback against Crystal Palace, Spurs rebounded strongly by eliminating Manchester City from the Carabao Cup midweek, showcasing resilience under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Radu Dragusin appears the likely choice to step into the lineup, though several other key decisions await further up the pitch.

Team captain Son Heung-min, who recently returned from a hamstring injury, has missed the last two matches but was seen participating in training on Saturday.

This suggests he could at least be available, though Postecoglou may opt to bring him on from the bench as a precaution. Alternatively, Dominic Solanke might be in line for a substitute role as well.

Solanke, who appeared fatigued during the final stages of the match against Pep Guardiola’s side, has put in a considerable shift leading the press, and may not be in peak form today.

Given this, it’s plausible that Postecoglou may rest either Solanke or Son, which could open up a chance for Richarlison. Tottenham’s social media team hinted at this, posting a pre-match graphic on Instagram featuring Richarlison alongside James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, Dejan Kulusevski, and Pedro Porro.

Richarlison’s versatility as both a central forward and left-sided player makes him a valuable asset who could step in for either Solanke or Son if needed.

While Postecoglou would ideally field his preferred starting lineup, having Richarlison as an option provides Tottenham with flexibility in attack.
