Tottenham ready summer move for underrated star who Lange tried to sign at all cost for Villa
This summer, Tottenham is reportedly preparing a “firm move” to recruit a “underrated” star—a player who, strangely, technical director Johan Lange attempted to sign when at Aston Villa.
Lange had a fantastic first transfer window
Since the Dane replaced previous transfer boss Fabio Paratici, all eyes were on him as he prepared for his debut transfer window at Spurs last month.
At Villa Park, Lange was recognized with several smart acquisitions, and his January transfer window at Spurs enhanced his profile even further. In fact, the referee assisted in arranging a last-minute takeover for teenage phenom Lucas Bergvall, which resulted in the north Londoners defeating Lange’s native Barcelona.
Prior to Bergvall’s arrival, Lange assisted in completing the transfers of offensive midfielder Timo Werner, on loan from RB Leipzig, and defender Radu Dragusin, who arrived for £25 million from Genoa.
All confirmed Tottenham deals for January | Transfer |
---|---|
Timo Werner | Arrival |
Radu Dragusin | Arrival |
Lucas Bergvall | Arrival |
Djed Spence | Exit (loan) |
Eric Dier | Exit (loan) |
Ivan Perisic | Exit (loan) |
Japhet Tanganga | Exit (loan) |
Sergio Reguilon | Exit (loan) |
Ashley Phillips | Exit (loan) |
Alejo Veliz | Exit (loan) |
The Lilywhites had a very 10/10 transfer window in terms of Lange, moving a ton of deadwood and saving a ton of money by reducing player wages.
It will be intriguing to see what the Spurs staff have in store for the summer transfer window. According to some speculations, Lange may seek Barcelona star Raphinha later in the season.
Conor Gallagher is “ready to make a firm move” for Tottenham
Supporters will be aware with Conor Gallagher, a great player for Chelsea, since he was often connected in January and the previous summer.
Because of his outstanding performance this season under Mauricio Pochettino, the 23-year-old is said to be keen to commit to Chelsea with a new deal. But not much has been accomplished so far, which gives Spurs the opportunity to sign him in the event that the player and the club are unable to come to new terms.
According to writer Matt Law of The Telegraph, Tottenham is “ready to make a firm move” for Gallagher this summer if his future is still up in the air.
Gallagher was originally targeted by Lange “some years ago” while he was working at Villa, so if everything goes according to plan, the Scandinavian should have another opportunity to get his man in the door, this time at N17.
A homegrown player, Chelsea’s midfield ace has been dubbed “very underrated” by the press.
