It is time Tottenham considered move for 24 goal striker who can not stop scoring

In the current landscape of Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer speculations, there has been a noticeable absence of links to strikers for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

As they enter the second half of the season, Spurs seem inclined to alternate between Son Heung-min and Richarlison as their number nine, with Timo Werner serving as a central option if necessary.

Although Alejo Veliz is a ready alternative on the sidelines, the young player still has considerable progress to make. Following Harry Kane’s departure from Tottenham, Postecoglou has chosen to rely on the versatility of his attacking options.

Looking ahead to the summer, it appears that Spurs could aspire to be more ambitious in their attacking lineup. Acquiring a top goal-scorer seems to be a priority, someone who can complement Son rather than replace him.

While Richarlison has made a positive start under Ange, there remains uncertainty about his long-term future at the club, considering he might not fit the typical profile preferred by the Australian manager.

Additionally, there is no guarantee that Spurs will seek to secure Timo Werner on a permanent basis, implying that key decisions lie ahead.

As Tottenham contemplates their next moves, they should consider a striker who has already netted 24 goals this season. Since departing from Coventry City in the summer, Viktor Gyokeres has exhibited remarkable form for Sporting Lisbon.

Despite being linked with other top English clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea, Spurs have not yet explored the possibility of signing him.

However, given his prolific goal-scoring record, Gyokeres could potentially serve as an excellent focal point for Spurs.

The 25-year-old Swedish striker showcased his capabilities in the Championship last year and has continued to progress in Portugal. Considering his recent steep growth curve, Postecoglou could likely extract even more potential from Gyokeres at Tottenham.

In comparison to Richarlison, Gyokeres is seen as a more reliable finisher and arguably possesses a higher ceiling at this stage. While Spurs may have other targets in mind, such as Ivan Toney, acquiring Gyokeres could prove to be a shrewd move for a top English club.

It is somewhat surprising that Tottenham has not been linked with the striker yet, but fans might be hopeful for a change in that regard soon.
