Talks underway: Tottenham make move to sign special new £50k a week star alongside Dragusin

So far, Tottenham Hotspur’s first season under Ange Postecoglou has been uneventful. They had seemed like they would be in a championship fight when they started off well, but injuries to James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, together with Cristian Romero’s ban, led to a total collapse in a 4-1 loss to Chelsea. Since then, the players in North London have shown their greatest play, but they have also suffered as a result of not having a deep enough roster.

The team’s recent defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion was a reflection of the situation, as Romero’s long-term injury was revealed just before a memorable Premier League evening. However, with reinforcements required, rumours have claimed that Spurs may recruit a Premier League player in addition to center-back Radu Dragusin.

Spurs, who are now outside the top four spots in the Premier League, must perform admirably in the second half of the season in order to guarantee their spot back in the Champions League the following year. To their credit, despite losing record-scorer Harry Kane during the summer transfer window, the Lilywhites have maintained a close distance from Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Liverpool. And they could sign more upgrades as January approaches.

Gianluca Di Marzio, a trustworthy source, reports that Spurs and Chelsea have begun negotiations for the signing of Conor Gallagher during the January transfer window. What would be seen as a successful winter manoeuvre for the Lilywhites would be the landing of a crucial reinforcement, undermining their London competitors.

According to other sources, Spurs and Gallagher are extremely near to finalising a deal for the player that would cost around €40 million (£35 million) next month. The England international has contributed significantly to the team’s success under Mauricio Pochettino, but Spurs may make a move as the Blues attempt to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations.

Postecoglou may be a perfect match for “Special” Galljagher

Gallagher seems to be a perfect match for Spurs coach Gregg Postecoglou’s style based on his numbers, particularly once Maddison is back. With a tonne of Premier League experience these days as well, Chelsea may rapidly come to regret losing the midfield player if a deal is completed next month. Even with the Blues’ difficulties, the England midfielder shines out statistically in the current season when compared to both Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma.

It’s not surprising that Gallagher, who earns £50,000 a week, has received accolades throughout his Premier League career. Former manager Patrick Vieira even mentioned Gallagher’s loan at Crystal Palace.
