The former goalkeeper noted the broader context of managing Tottenham, where the demand for success is unrelenting. “He’ll always be under pressure at Tottenham because the stigma surrounding the need to win a trophy isn’t going away.

That’s the stick used to beat them with by every other club. If he wins a trophy but doesn’t secure European football, would that be enough? I’m not convinced. European football is vital for Tottenham and where they want to be as a club,” Robinson said.

While Postecoglou has earned some time to turn things around, Robinson warned that the patience of the board and fans may not last indefinitely. “Ange has earned the right to have time, but the team doesn’t seem to be learning from their mistakes.

By the end of the season, he’ll be under immense pressure if they don’t meet expectations. If they drop out of the cup competitions and fail to compete for European places by February, he might lose his job before the season ends,” Robinson added.

The road ahead for Spurs does not get any easier. Their next challenge is a daunting trip to face Manchester City, a team renowned for their dominance at home.

Following that, they host Italian giants Roma in the Europa League, a fixture that will test the team’s resolve and highlight their ability to perform under pressure.
