Tottenham in talks over 3 formulas as defender offer submitted

After conducting initial discussions about a possible transfer, Tottenham is prepared to make a formal offer for Radu Dragusin of Genoa, sources have informed Football Insider.

Spurs are actively seeking to add a new center-back as soon as the transfer window opens, and the 21-year-old Romanian international is very desirable to them.

Tottenham and Dragusin have been in communication with a potential transaction. They have spoken about permanent, loan, and loan-to-buy alternatives.

Serie A teams have previously made loan bids for the center back, but Genoa is holding out for a permanent transfer.

Roma, AC Milan, and Atalanta all reportedly keen in signing Dragusin come January, but Tottenham is reportedly in the lead when it comes to negotiating terms.

To have an early advantage over the player’s other suitors, Spurs are getting ready to make a formal offer.

The Londoners have now shifted their primary focus to Dragusin as Nice hopes to hold onto another key Spurs target, center-back Jean-Clair Todibo, at least until the summer.

Ange Postecoglou has made it plain both in public and in private that strengthening at center back is his first objective in January after suffering a string of terrible blows there.

Due to the club’s lengthy injury list, the Australian manager was forced to start emergency alternatives at center defense while both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero recover from long-term ailments.

Having played full-back for the most of their careers, Ben Davies and Emerson Royal were teamed in center defense during Brighton’s 4-2 midweek loss.
