Tottenham hits roadblock after disagreement on loan fee
Football Insider reports that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s potential transfer to Juventus is facing obstacles due to disagreements between the two clubs concerning the loan fee.
Following Ange Postecoglou’s approval for Hojbjerg to leave, Spurs had reportedly showcased the player for potential transfer.
Postecoglou aims to bring in another midfielder as a replacement for the 28-year-old, and Juventus had identified Hojbjerg as their primary target for the January transfer window.
However, the report reveals that talks hit a standstill as Juventus balked at the loan fee demanded by the Premier League side for Hojbjerg during initial discussions.
While discussions are currently on hold, the possibility of restructuring the deal later in the transfer window remains open, according to the outlet.
This update follows a Gazzetta dello Sport report from over a week ago, suggesting Juventus has reservations about pursuing Hojbjerg and might delay their pursuit until the next summer transfer window.
In our view, if Hojbjerg’s move to Juventus materializes, it is likely to happen in the final days of the transfer window. The Dane might attract interest from other clubs, but Postecoglou would be cautious about letting him leave without securing a replacement first.
