Tottenham hijack Hammer’s move to sign Marcus Edwards
So Tottenham Hotspur could be a big problem for West Ham United in the race to sign Marcus Edwards this summer it seems.
It’s not all bad news for us though.
Sporting winger Marcus Edwards is firmly on the radar of both Tottenham and West Ham this summer, after it recently emerged that Julen Lopetegui is very keen indeed to bring him back to the Premier League.
Lopetegui desperately needs to bolster his attacking department at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Edwards would be an interesting option for us because he is a left-footed right winger, so he’d provide brilliant competition for Jarrod Bowen.

The Sporting star can also play centrally if need be, so he would offer us real flexibility across the forward line.
A really hotly contested race for his signature could be about to explode into action after the latest update on his situation coming out of Portugal…
Tottenham could hijack West Ham move to sign Marcus Edwards
It’s good and bad news for the Hammers it seems.

Sporting wanted £51 million for Edwards back in January, but he could now be available for just £17 million according to a report from A Bola.
The £34 million price drop is obviously good news for the Hammers, but the Portuguese publications’s claim that Spurs have entered the race to sign the winger is clearly not.
Described by Sky Sports as ‘outstanding’, the 25-year-old has been in fine form for Sporting since joining the Portuguese giants in January 2022.
Edwards has bagged 21 goals and 26 assists in 110 games for Sporting (Transfermarkt), and has a league title to his name.
The former Spurs man is a left-footed right winger who has pace to burn and is brilliant technically. He has an eye for goal and regularly contributes with assists as well.
The 25-year-old hasn’t even reached his prime yet, and will keep getting better and better for the next few years at least.
Let’s be honest here, £17 million for the forward would represent a truly stunning deal.
Whether or not West Ham are able to beat Tottenham in the race to sign Marcus Edwards remains to be seen though.
