After joining Tottenham, Heung-min Son privately sent a 3-word message to Lucas Bergvall
Last week, Tottenham finalized the signing of Lucas Bergvall, and the team’s captain, Heung-min Son, sent him a text message extending his welcome.
Did the Spurs have a successful winter transfer window? After getting rid of many players and signing Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, they managed to sign young Bergvall before Barcelona.
Lucas Bergvall was welcomed at Tottenham by Heung-min Son. Heung-min, the captain of Tottenham Son left last month for a foreign assignment.
With the goal of winning the tournament this year, the 31-year-old traveled to the Asian Cup with South Korea.
With household names like Australia and Japan eliminated in the previous round, everything seemed to be going their way as well.
Unfortunately for Son, his team lost shockingly to Jordan yesterday, and he will soon be returning to North London.
Son was still in the Asian Cup when Lucas Bergvall’s arrival was revealed by Tottenham. But he did make care to send the young player a text message welcoming him to Spurs.
Peter Kisfaludy, the former coach and academy director of Bergvall and current Sports Coordinator at Djurgarden, said that the child was overjoyed to see Son text him.
“Even Son texted with Lucas from the Asian Cup after he signed,” he said to Football London.
“He sent him a text saying, ‘Welcome to Tottenham,’ and Lucas was overjoyed.”
Bergvall may rise to prominence with Tottenham
Over the previous several months, Lucas Bergvall was often linked to moves to a number of elite teams.
For a while, it seemed as if Barcelona was the front-runner to recruit him, but last month, Spurs made an unexpected move and convinced him to join them.
Bergvall is very gifted. Being just eighteen, he has already represented Sweden’s national team and is already an excellent player with the ball.
He is certain to continue to grow under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham the following season, and he has the potential to emerge as a true star for the team very soon.
