Tottenham have made their opening move to sign ‘world class’ player as talks begin

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg has shared some exciting news for Tottenham Hotspur fans.

Spurs are in a really good place right now. They’ve made a couple of good signings, have pushed many of their unwanted players out of the door and have done really well in pre-season.

That has raised the excitement levels among Tottenham fans, who can’t wait for Ange Postecoglou’s second season at the helm.

Now, there is something else for Spurs supporters to be really excited about.

Tottenham begin talks with Federico Chiesa’s agent

Federico Chiesa has been heavily linked with Tottenham over the last few weeks.

The Italian has been training alone at Juventus, and it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave the Turin club before the window shuts in August.

Reports have claimed that Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has flown to London to hold talks with interested clubs over a transfer this summer.

Now, Plettenberg has revealed that Spurs have made their move.

The Sky Sports journalist has claimed that Tottenham’s interest in Chiesa is indeed concrete, and the North Londoners have even begun talks with agent Ramadani.

However, as things stand, the negotiations are not at an advanced stage just yet.

Plettenberg tweeted: “Tottenham Hotspur, with a concrete interest in signing Federico Chiesa this transfer window!

“First talks with his agent Fali Ramadani have started. But no concrete negotiations at this stage.”

Postecoglou will love two things about Chiesa

Postecoglou deserves a lot of credit for the way he has transformed Tottenham.

The Australian has brought beautiful football back to Spurs, and his side produced some truly incredible moments in the 2023/24 season.

Chiesa is an exciting name for Tottenham this summer, and it’s no surprise at all that Postecoglou is interested in him.

The Spurs boss will definitely love his rapid pace, but what will likely be even more attractive is Chiesa’s versatility – the Italian can play anywhere across the front three and also as a second striker.

Chiesa, branded as a ‘world-class‘ player, has entered the final year of his contract at Juventus. If Tottenham really want him, they should be able to get him for an affordable price.
