Tottenham have a genuine interest in striker with 26 goals in 27 games; Ange impressed by his free-scoring form

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prioritising the signing of a new striker in the upcoming transfer window, aiming to find a successor to Harry Kane.

Among several potential targets, the goal-scoring form of Serhou Guirassy has caught the attention of the Tottenham hierarchy, including manager Ange Postecoglou.

They have been linked with several players so far, including Ivan Toney, Santiago Gimenez, and Jonathan David. However, recent reports indicate that Spurs are considering a move for the Stuttgart star ahead of the summer.

According to GiveMeSport, Postecoglou has been particularly impressed by the prolific goal-scoring form of the Guinea international this season.

Guirassy has been in outstanding form, netting 26 goals in 27 appearances in the German top flight, making him one of Europe’s top scorers. His performance places him just behind elite strikers such as Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland.

The 28-year-old forward signed with Stuttgart last July from Stade Rennais for a modest fee of €9 million and is under contract until the summer of 2026.

His current market value is around €40 million, but his release clause is reportedly set at a much lower £15 million, making him an attractive and affordable option for Tottenham.

In fact, it is reported that Spurs have taken into account his affordable release clause when earmarking the options.

Tottenham appear to be leading the race for Guirassy, with Manchester United, who were previously monitoring the forward, now unlikely to join the competition. Adding Guirassy to the squad would significantly bolster Spurs’ attacking options without breaking the bank.

With his extensive experience in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, Guirassy would bring both quality and experience to Tottenham’s forward line, potentially filling the void left by Harry Kane’s departure and helping Spurs push for top honours in the Premier League.
