‘Levy would let go’: Tottenham could agree brilliant player deal, if they receive a £70M+ bid – journalist
Pedro Porro has been the subject of transfer speculation, with Real Madrid reportedly showing interest in the Tottenham full-back. According to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Tottenham may consider selling Porro if the right offer comes in.
The journalist has shared that Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman, would be open to a deal if the price reaches around £70 million. This valuation reflects the growing importance and market value of top-tier right-backs in today’s football landscape, making such a transfer more feasible than in the past.
Jones emphasized that while Porro has a contract with Tottenham, which would naturally drive up his transfer fee, £70 million is not out of reach when considering the market for elite full-backs.
Porro has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the team, but Spurs may entertain offers if the financial terms are right. Given the increasing interest in skilled right-backs across Europe, a high bid for Porro isn’t beyond the realm of possibility.
Should Tottenham decide to sell Porro, they may not be left without options in the right-back position. The club has depth in that area, with Djed Spence recently signing a new contract and receiving praise from manager Ange Postecoglou.
Spence could step up and fill the gap left by Porro, ensuring Spurs remain competitive in that position. Moreover, young talent Archie Gray has also been mentioned as a potential long-term solution.
Gray impressed last season at Leeds United in the right-back role and managed to keep Spence out of the starting lineup for a considerable portion of the campaign. While his role at Tottenham is still being defined, there is potential for Gray to solidify his place as a right-back should Porro depart.
Though it remains to be seen whether a club will meet Tottenham’s asking price, it’s clear that the club has set its expectations for a possible transfer. As with many high-profile players, the right offer could lead to a significant shift, and Tottenham’s willingness to sell Porro for £70 million suggests that the door is open for negotiations.
While no official bids have been confirmed, the ongoing rumors indicate that the summer transfer window could see developments in this area.
If Real Madrid or any other club were to meet Tottenham’s demands, it would mark a substantial investment in the Spanish right-back. For now, Porro’s future remains uncertain, but Spurs are preparing for the possibility of life without him by developing internal solutions that could ease the impact of his departure.
