Tottenham to make last minute bid for £50M striker who Klopp says has so much potential

Tottenham Hotspur is contemplating a last-minute move to secure the services of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth before the closure of the transfer window tomorrow.

Despite having already completed notable business in this window, Spurs seem determined to further strengthen their squad under the management of Ange Postecoglou, with Dominic Solanke emerging as a target.

Having lost Harry Kane in the summer, Tottenham opted not to sign a direct replacement for the striker. While they have performed admirably without a traditional number nine, it appears Postecoglou is now addressing this gap in the squad.

According to reports from The Sun, Tottenham is prepared to make a late bid for Dominic Solanke, the 26-year-old forward from Bournemouth. The club is reportedly considering a deal exceeding £50 million and is looking to finalize the transfer before the window closes tomorrow night.

Bournemouth would prefer to retain Solanke and is likely to demand a substantial fee for his departure. However, the report suggests that the Cherries are exploring potential replacements in case an irresistible offer is presented.

Dominic Solanke has been enjoying a successful season with Bournemouth, netting 14 goals across various competitions – a tally surpassing that of Tottenham captain Son Heung-min.

Jurgen Klopp, who worked closely with Solanke during their time together at Liverpool, has expressed admiration for the English striker.

Klopp recently stated, “I am so happy for Dom! When we signed him we were so excited. He had so much potential. The talent was obvious. How it is sometimes, he made the right decision to go to Bournemouth. Wonderful kid.”
