Tottenham are looking at signing attacker who ‘could be one of the best players England has ever seen’
Never go back in football, they advise, although Spurs are usually more than glad to re-sign their past players.
Some of Tottenham’s all-time greats have indeed spent many periods there.
Gareth Bale, Teddy Sheringham, Jermain Defoe, Jurgen Klinsmann all had two distinct periods at Tottenham; now, Spurs could be bringing back another of their former stars.
Indeed, Marcus Edwards is under consideration for joining by Spurs this summer, claims Football London.
Tottenham shown interest in Marcus Edwards
Football London claims that Tottenham is monitoring Marcus Edwards’s position at Sporting CP as they must raise their native quota.
Having been likened to Lionel Messi as a young player before going on to play in Portugal, Edwards came via the Tottenham system.
Edwards has grown to be something of a star since then; Spurs are now considering bringing him back.

With a 35% sell-on clause for Edwards, who is said to be valued at under £15m, Spurs may want to arrange a deal for less.
Marcus Edwards would be a star.
Though he may not have lived up to the Lionel Messi analogues, he is a player with a lot of promise.
One of his old Tottenham academy colleagues, Paris Maghoma, has projected him to be a Ballon d’Or winner; he has showed talent over in Portugal.
” Marcus very likely experimented with all of them, even nutmeg Harry Kane. Although he most likely received a lot of criticism over it, Maghoma remarked, this is the kind of player he is—one who plays with great freedom and great enjoyment.
“Marcus is a tiny Messi; it was just a known fact. Marcus is like Messi, the same way Messi is like Maradona; he simply performs like him.
Being honest, I think he may be among the finest players England has ever produced. Though I really believe he is the finest player I have ever seen, I get scheduled for declaring him the best player ever.
“There’s no saying he won’t be nominated for a Ballon d’Or if he keeps going and believing in himself, surrounds himself with the right people.”
For a player this gifted, who supports Spurs with their native quota, a little sum seems appropriate. In many respects, this trade appears obvious.
Edwards may not be far away wearing a Tottenham jersey.
