Tottenham have another gem emerging as U21 ace wows Son Heung-min in first team training

At the present, Tottenham has a number of really gifted young goalkeepers practicing at Hotspur Way. The most recent Under-21 player to join first-team training is Luca Gunter.

The future in goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was doubtful when Hugo Lloris left the team after more than 10 years of service.

Guglielmo Vicario, who was signed in the summer for an initial cost of £17.2 million from Serie A team Genoa, swiftly resolved this, but (Sky Sports News, June 27, 2023).

Vicario, who is still just 27 years old, has had a great start to life in North London and is probably Ange Postecoglou’s long-term favorite.

And behind the Italy international, there’s no lack of skilled goalies.

Following some strong performances for the Under-21s this season, Josh Keeley has signed a loan with Barnet for the duration of the 2023–24 campaign. Tottenham News exclusively revealed that he is still training part-time at Hotspur Way.

And now that the 18-year-old was observed in first-team practice, his Spurs colleague Gunter is making an impression on his own.

The Tottenham players can be seen practicing ahead of their matchup with Aston Villa on Sunday, March 10, in video that was uploaded to the team’s official X account on Wednesday, March 6.

Gunter, who stood up between the sticks and tried to block shots from some of the greatest names at Hotspur Way, is one man who fans may not have recognized.

One player he did manage to exclude was Son Heung-min; in the last moments of the video, the South Korea international is seen praising Gunter after the youthful stopper successfully denied the 31-year-old in a one-on-one situation.

Gunter will undoubtedly benefit from catching the attention of his club captain if he wants to advance through the Tottenham ranks.

In an attempt to get Postecoglou’s attention, Gunter, who has made four appearances in Premier League 2 this season, will aim to appear more often between now and May.
