Tottenham are plotting £40m late move to sign ‘special’ Manchester United player

Tottenham Hotspur have now identified a player from one of their Premier League rivals as a potential opportunity this summer.

It has been a relatively slow start to the market for Ange Postecoglou‘s side when it comes to arrivals.

Archie Gray has been the only player to land at Tottenham on a permanent deal so far with Timo Werner marking the other addition.

Of course, January signing Lucas Bergvall has also joined up with the squad after his return to Sweden on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

Despite seeing two new midfielders land, Postecoglou remains keen to add in that department an is now plotting a move for a player from Manchester United.

Over the summer window, Spurs have been strongly linked with a potential swoop for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

However, that move does not seem to be progressing despite his ongoing contract debacle.

Pre-season is now up and running for Spurs and Postecoglou is going to be looking for additions to be made before they jet off for their Asian tour.

If a deal for Gallagher is looking near impossible to pull off, Spurs will have no issue in turning their attention elsewhere.

According to The Sun, Spurs are now plotting a move for the United midfielder Scott McTominay.

“Scott McTominay is a kid with a special character, very humble, aggressive in a positive way, brave, he’s a special kid.”
