Tottenham could sell Outstanding 23yr old player as club makes tough decision – report
Tottenham Hotspur might try to get rid of some of their players next summer to make room for new players.
Ange Postecoglou has made a huge difference in his first season at the club. Tottenham is in a tight race with Aston Villa to finish in the top four. Even if they come in fifth this season, they might still play in the Champions League.
Spurs are likely to finally get rid of guys like Japhet Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon. And it seems likely that Ryan Sessegnon will also be let go.
This season has been tough for the 23-year-old left back, who can also play left side. After missing 11 months of play because of surgery on his leg, it looked like he was on his way to full recovery. But while playing for the U21 team, he hurt himself again, which kept him out for the rest of the season.
At football.london, they say that a “tough decision” will be made about Sessegnon. He is expected to be fully fit to return to pre-season exercise.
At the end of the season, Sessegnon will be a free agent, but Spurs can choose to keep him on for another year. They paid about £30 million for the back in 2019, but they could now get rid of him for free.
When he moved from Fulham to Tottenham, he was known as one of the best players in the Premier League. There was a lot of promise in him, and Noel Whelan called him a “outstanding” player in 2020.
The manager Postecoglou didn’t have a chance to see him well, and letting him go would be very unfair to him. The club needs to make a big choice about him in the next few months because Postecoglou can use him very well.
