Gary Neville thinks club will already to make move for Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou is a player Manchester City is reportedly considering for the role of Pep Guardiola should the Spaniard decide to leave the team, according to Gary Neville.
Pundits have praised Tottenham much for the thrilling football they are putting on each week. Jamie Carragher recently said that he would love to own a season ticket to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Neville, a colleague of his, has just waxed poetic about the game Spurs are playing after their 2-0 victory at the City Ground.
In spite of his disbelief at how rapidly Postecoglou had the Lilywhites playing this style of football, the former Manchester United player said that it is one of the greatest he has seen from any team in his ten years as a pundit.
Can Spurs retain Postecoglou for an extended period of time?
The 48-year-old said that Spurs supporters have to savor this moment while it lasts, raising the possibility that the Australian is in line to succeed Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
“We see managers sometimes say they need time to build a style at a club, or they need time to get used to the players,” Neville said to Sky Sports.
“What Postecoglou has accomplished in a brief amount of time is astounding; not only has he brought a play’s concept to life, but he has also created something that is visually stunning to behold.” From a football perspective, it is really rather sophisticated.
It might take managers months, 40 or 50 games, or two to three seasons to get players into places and operating like clockwork. Even Pep Guardiola found it difficult to communicate his specific vision during his early seasons at Manchester City.
“However, Ange Postecoglou is incredible with the way they play. If you’re Manchester City and you lose Guardiola in the next year or two, you’ll be thinking, “That’s exactly what we want to see,” when you look at Postecoglou.

“I like watching Tottenham play, but in recent years, that hasn’t always been the case.
Neville said that Tottenham has to address their disciplinary issues, however, after Yves Bissouma’s second red card of the year.

In a few years, I don’t think there’s any chance larger teams will steal the Postecoglou.
It is great news for Spurs as it implies that the Australian would have had great success at the North London team if teams like Real Madrid and Manchester City do try to sign him in two years.
